So, Warner is now exclusively Blu-Ray, as of May.

To that end, I dont really know what the rest of the studios are supporting. As far as I can tell by checking web sites here’s the break down:

Warner: Blu-Ray
Sony: Blu-Ray
Fox: Blu-Ray

Does this mean that someone actually made a decision that goes to bat FOR the consumer? Awfully strange, dont you think?

My Allergies are bad — really bad.
I’m working on many things right now.
1) Doing some data entry to build a new data collection form for the Annual Report.
2) Helping debug some java.
3) Working to massage the data from last year’s Annual Report.
4) Writing some data import/export scripts to get our systems to talk with one of our web hosting services.
5) Learning Sharepoint.

I’m busy these days, I like it, and it is challenging.

But I’m tired and allergic.

So there.

You would think that a geek would favor going out to dinner after along week.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
Friday night is Guy’s Night Out.
Saturday however is a night to stay in take care of yourself, and those you care for.
This evening I was in the mood for some spice. I went to the super market and got a pizza, and a frozen dinner. As I was shopping, I remembered how much I enjoy having plain curried veggies with a bed of rice.

So, that’s what i did this evening. Yup, It’s simple.
Prepare rice:
melt a tablespoon of butter in a sauce pan.
add 1 cup rice to pan, and mix, until the rice glistens.
add 2 cups of water to rice mixture, and bring to a boil.
simmer for 15-20 minutes.

Saute Garlic, and any kind of chile pepper.
Add mushrooms, I enjoy Poratbello’s (I cheated and bought them sliced)
Add a chopped Onion (I use a Red Onion)
Add other sorts of vegetables.

Add Curry powder to taste…

Serve vegetables on bed of rice. In-range of laptop. Yum.

A Long Week

I’m at our national convention all week this week. Load-In, do support in the cyber cafe and Load-Out.
My allergies are killing me, and I’m really trying to do more about feeling better than I have in the past. This means that I’m rinsing my sinuses out with a nettie pot. It seems to be the best treatment for me.
Other than that, I’m working on a web app done in Ruby On Rails these days.

I’m fixing up my house these days. it means alot of time in the basement cleaning this and that.
I have TONS of boxes in the basement, and I’ve been working to get them thrown out. This weekend was the realization of that.
Believe it or not it didn’t take that long to do. I tore down the boxes, and boxed them in a very large box, which I’ll put out this wednesday.
I felt really good to do this. The biggest reason is that I realized that there were wet cardboard boxes at the bottom of this pile. I’ve been worried about mold, and while there was no mold found at the bottom, I could imagine that there was the opportunity for that to be growing.
So, there you have it. I’ve averted another problem, and found a way to make myself feel better.
I’ve been saying for a while, its about the actions that you do. Nothing else. That influences your attitude.
